Fragmented Town

Fragmented Town is a series of my paintings that offer a mixed world of past and future, media and reality, personal space and public space. I paint cityscapes, which are mixtures of various disasters in the world, and cozy-looking houses which represent domestic peace scenarios. The protective geometrical tree hedges that surround the houses in paintings convey an ambiguous and unsettling atmosphere because we do not know what is going on inside of them. I try to suggest a modern cityscape which contains both confusion and anxiety through the blurring of the borderline between home and society, fantasy and reality.
